FIT FAQs

HOW SHOULD IT FEEL?
A snug feel – not too tight – with one finger under the band is a good rule of thumb.  Try putting your hands in the air above your head; the band should stay in place and not really move up.  You also shouldn’t be able to pull the straps up too high towards your ears.  Since sports bras are meant to fit more firmly, most women tend to buy a band size too big.  If you are finding too much movement, try one size smaller.

DO I NEED A DIFFERENT BRA FOR EACH SPORT?
It's recommended.  Depending on your size, best practice is to have a separate sports bra for each impact level.  Low impact activities, such as yoga or hiking, may only require light support.  High impact exercise, however, demands a greater force on the body.  A more supportive sports bra is required for high impact activities, such as running or aerobics, to protect Coopers ligaments and minimize movement.

HOW DOES DESIGN AFFECT SUPPORT?
Design and support go hand-in-hand.  Racerbacks offer a lot of support for high impact activities, while simultaneously allowing for maximum movement.  U-backs are excellent at distributing weight for lighter activities, easy to take on/off, and can even be great for everyday wear.  Coverage across the bust and at the sides is also important.  The higher the coverage, the more protection you’ll have from vertical bounce and oscillating motion.

HOW OFTEN SHOULD I REPLACE MY SPORTS BRA?
Once a year.  Your garment will inevitably wear over time, and the key element is the elastic band.  Up to 80% of support comes from the elastic band, so keeping it nice and springy with an upgrade at least once a year is best practice.
